Sanjay Singh Art

Sanjay Singh
Being rooted in tradition and yet being modern in thought is not a rarity here in India. Instances like making offerings (of coconut) or visiting a temple to seek the blessings of the benevolent before the launch of a satellite is taken as a normal gesture. It is of awe and wonder. On one hand we Indians are achieving advance technology with regards to satellites on the other we are consulting an astrologer for the most auspicious time. This dichotomy is woven into a single fabric in the paintings of Sanjay Singh. The weaning culture of the compact townships, the growing admiration for the globalized culture, disconnected urban dwellings is of concern to Sanjay.
